Hearing and communication difficulties can affect far more than a person’s ability to hear. They may influence cognitive wellbeing, social participation, treatment understanding, communication during consultations and a patient’s overall quality of life. Healthcare professionals are often among the first to notice these concerns and can play an important role in identifying patients who may benefit from further assessment.
